Winter Hike

Last week Benjamin and I went for a little hike in the woods. I love to see the beauty in the everyday things we often pass by. It was so quiet and peaceful out on the trail ~ a very enjoyable break from our daily tasks.

I couldn't help but see these thorns and think of the crown that was placed on our Lord's head ~

God Will Make A Way

"Don’t be afraid to keep moving on, For what was before, now has gone, God wants to accomplish so much more, But we need to move forward in the Lord." ~ ~ ~ ~ Thankful today for the confirmations that are sent our way about so many things, and remembering "God will make a way".

Crazy how there are many big decisions in our lives that we pray and pray and pray about, we cry about and feel so tortured over. Yet time and time again the Lord shows us that we are going in the right direction and that we have made sound decisions. When we take ourselves out of unhealthy situations, we then can see from outside the circle how sick it really was, how we let people get ahold of us and inevitably you start to think like them. When you are removed from it, you can see how wrong it all was. Thanking God for sending discernment and growth ~ for stepping in and opening our eyes to things. It's scary looking back and seeing the control that we can allow man to have on us in so many ways.

“Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

Pinterest Project

I found this cute craft project on Pinterest today and decided it would be fun to do on this rainy winter day. They came out so cute! I wish I had them last night when our power went out from the ice we were getting.
If you would like to make them for yourself, here is the link where the tutorial is from the talented lady that posted them.

Denise ~ I Love This.

Thanks for the inspiration, Denise! You are a talented lady:)

Photo Ledge

My hubby built me some photo ledges. I saw the idea on Pinterest, and thought they were adorable. So far I have put one up, just outside our bedroom door:) Love the way it looks!

Coffee Station

I have been busy organizing, cleaning and rearranging things since the new year. I decided to take the shabby chic dresser I bought for display at the bazaar I did in December, and make a little coffee station out of it.
I think it looks cute. We'll see if I keep it there or not. It was very convenient to have my Keurig right next to our sink for refilling. But for now, it's a cute little station for our caffeine needs;)

More Organizing!

I have been collecting old silver and silver plate flatware for a few years now. I use it occasionally, but have been looking for a way to display it on the counter, where we can use it each day. I finally found this cute box! I can't fit all of it in here, but much of it.
I love the look of silver, and I even love sitting and cleaning and polishing it. It's so relaxing and rewarding when you are finished and it's shiny and beautiful:)

Out With the Old . . . .

We've been talking about replacing our upstairs hallway carpet for about three years now. Last weekend we finally did it! I love the look, and the hall feels so much bigger now. I spent Monday painting the walls. I did the same color as my family room. My husband was surprised that I got away from the earth tones. I love the color, though it is hard to see in these pictures!

Our old berber carpet. It was ready to be replaced! 12 years and four kids ~ long overdue!

The hallway before. Had a beige color on the walls.

The new floor is down. Thanks, honey!

In the process of painting. Not my favorite job, but I did it!

The finished product . . . . clean and bright and fresh! Now to decide what to hang on the walls:) Maybe more pictures to come:)
