Watching the beautiful fairy tale wedding this morning. I remember getting up to watch the wedding of Charles and Diana. Wow, that was a long time ago! Due to my great interest in Princess Diana, I was invited to England by a great friend of my grandmother, and spent three weeks traveling in England, Scotland and Wales as a teen. I was in England for the wedding of Andrew and Sarah.
Even better, my interest in Princess Diana led me to a special friendship in middle school. My dear friend and I were drawn together by our interest in Princess Diana. We were soon the best of friends. It wasn't long before she told me that I had to meet her cousin who was moving back to town. She thought we would be the perfect pair. She introduced Eric and I, and sure enough ~ it was love at first sight, and my fairy tale began. I was a girl just shy of thirteen at the time we first met. Now in June we will celebrate our 22nd anniversary.
I have always loved the beauty and the tradition of the monarchy. The pageantry is stunning. It calls me to remember our own royal heritage ~ in Christ our King! We are all subject to Him. In Revelation we read about a throne ~ with a rainbow about it, before a sea of glass like crystal. "And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever."
Nothing could be better than to be in that Royal family.

Pantry Organizing
When we got home from vacation, I walked into my pantry and realized that it had become an unorganized mess! (Not from the teens left home, but my busyness!) I had lots of containers and baskets, but nothings seemed in order anymore. I also decided that the plastic containers I was using weren't the healthiest things. The more I read about plastic food storage, the less I like. Sometimes the food takes on the smell of the plastic. So, I decided glass would be in order. Of course I didn't realize at the time what glass jars would cost! Yikes! I guess it's not the glass jars as much as it is the fact that I have lots of things that need containers!
I put everything that went into containers on one side. The other shelves are still canned goods, etc, and I didn't take pics of those shelves. These show some of the plastic containers and baskets beforehand.
Love the look of the glass! Need a few more, but we're almost there!

Mom's Birthday
On Monday we celebrated my Mom's birthday. I invited her and four of her best friends for lunch. After I finally got rolling on Monday morning, it turned out to be a wonderful day! We had great food and great fellowship.
For favors we gave little eye masks with pedicure kits and massagers. They looked really cute on the table!

Family Room Makeover
Here are a couple of little pictures of our family room before. I forgot to take some right before we painted. Oops:) This is what I could find and crop from old photos. Not much:)
Our Sanbiel shells ~ our favorite getaway, so brought a little bit of it home.
I love my jars of sand from the beaches we visited in Florida this winter.
I'm looking for a new chair for this corner. I would like to find something upholstered, and so far no luck. So this little cabinet is there temporarily to fill the corner.
